Aquario Neo Clean

A liquid water conditioner (a treatment you dose into the tank) that clears cloudy water quickly by binding the very fine particles causing it.

In Aquario's own words, Neo Clean “makes water transparent in a very short time by removing very small substances that make water cloudy”, and “works regardless of temperature or PH”. They note the degree of removal depends on the environment.

What that does in a tank: it binds fine suspended particles — substrate (tank-floor material) dust after a rescape (re-arranging the tank's layout), sand fines, mineral debris — into clumps the filter can catch, instead of waiting days for them to settle. Aquario state it slightly lowers pH (the acidity scale — below 7 is acidic, above 7 is alkaline), so it is not chemically neutral; worth testing if you run deliberately soft, low-buffer water (water with little dissolved mineral to resist pH swings). Because the particles end up in the filter, Aquario note flow may drop while it works, and they instruct a water change after use.

Dosing: 5 ml per 80 L. The 300 ml cap holds 5 ml and the 1 L cap holds 10 ml. Shake before use.

Not to be confused with Neo C, Aquario's dechlorinator (the conditioner that removes chlorine from tap water) — the names sit close together but they do entirely different jobs.
