A clear acrylic, fine-mist CO2 diffuser that shears gas into a genuine mist rather than coarse bubbles, for noticeably better dissolution — sized S/M/L to match your tank.

The Normal Special is Aquario's straight-body diffuser (the piece that breaks pressurised gas into fine bubbles): a clear acrylic housing over a fine, ceramic-style membrane. Instead of the handful of large bubbles you get from a basic diffuser, CO2 (carbon dioxide — the gas plants feed on) is sheared into a fine mist, which gives it far more surface area and far more time in the water column (the open water) before it reaches the surface — the main lever for actually getting CO2 into solution (properly dissolved into the water) rather than straight out through your lid.

Soak the membrane for 10–30 minutes before first use; this fines up the bubble size noticeably compared with using it straight out of the packet. Choose your size against your tank volume below — going too small for your tank just means running the diffuser harder than it likes.
