The same fine-membrane diffusion behind our CO2 range, tuned for an air pump instead — much finer bubbles than a standard airstone, with less noise and splash.
Air Normal Special uses the same fine ceramic-style membrane technology as the CO2 diffusers above (a diffuser breaks gas into very fine bubbles so more of it dissolves in the water), but built for a standard air pump line rather than CO2 (carbon dioxide). The result is a much finer bubble than you'd get from a typical airstone (the porous block on the end of an air line that makes bubbles), which means better oxygen transfer for the same airflow, plus noticeably less of the rattling noise and surface splash that coarser airstones tend to produce.
It's a good fit for overnight aeration (bubbling air through the tank to keep oxygen levels up) in a shrimp tank, or as the air source feeding a sponge filter (a simple foam filter driven by rising air bubbles), where quiet, fine, even bubbles matter more than raw airflow. Available in M and L to suit different tank sizes.
