Description
An ammonia kit is a liquid drop test for ammonia, the waste compound produced by fish, shrimp and rotting food. It is toxic at low levels and should read zero in an established tank. This is the key test while cycling a new aquarium, the weeks it takes to grow the bacteria that convert ammonia into nitrite and then nitrate.

Usage & Instructions
Fill the tube to the line, add the drops from each bottle in the order given, cap and shake for the time stated, then wait the full development time before comparing the colour against the chart under white light. Test daily while cycling, then weekly, then every few weeks once the tank is stable.
Risk & Awareness
Any reading above zero in a stocked tank is a signal to act with a water change, not a number to watch. Ammonia is more harmful at higher pH and temperature. Reagents degrade after opening and have a use-by date, so replace them on schedule. Do not tip tested water back into the tank; keep bottles away from children.
