Macronutrients (the nutrients plants consume in bulk) keep plants growing, but it's the trace elements — iron, boron, molybdenum, calcium and the rest of the micronutrient list, the minerals plants need only in tiny amounts — that keep new growth looking right: strong colour, clean leaf edges, no pinholing (tiny holes in new leaves, a classic deficiency sign). Aquario Neo Solution 2 is the micronutrient half of the Neo Solution range, built to run alongside Solution 1 rather than replace it.

Alongside the core trace elements it also carries amino acids (the building blocks of protein) and humic acid (a natural acid from broken-down plant matter), both commonly included in micronutrient fertilisers to support general plant condition and nutrient uptake. As with any trace mix, less is more early on — trace elements accumulate differently to macros, so it's worth watching your plants rather than dosing to a fixed schedule from day one.

Aquario doesn't publish exact percentages for the trace-element blend, so we're not quoting a guaranteed analysis (the certified nutrient breakdown printed on fertiliser packaging). The dosing pattern commonly cited by resellers is similar to Solution 1 — roughly 2mL per 5 US gallons (≈19 litres) every 2–3 days — treat that as a conservative starting point and adjust to your plant mass and how the tank responds.
