Standard root tabs (fertiliser tablets pushed into the substrate — the material covering the tank floor) give a solid nutrient hit but tend to exhaust over a matter of weeks. Aquario Neo Tab St.Long is an organic root tab formulated for a slower, longer release — designed to keep feeding root-zone plants for longer than the standard Neo Tab Plant 1 before it needs replacing.
It's a good fit for low-maintenance planted setups, or anyone who'd rather not be back in the substrate every few weeks — push it into the substrate near root feeders (swords, crypts and similar — Amazon swords and Cryptocoryne are the classic examples) the same way as any root tab: a few centimetres deep, clear of the root ball — the clump of roots at the plant's base — itself.
Aquario markets this as organic and long-release but doesn't publish an exact release timeframe or nutrient breakdown, so we're not quoting a “lasts X months” figure. Watch your plants' growth rate as your guide for when it's time to add a fresh tab, rather than working to a fixed calendar.
