Description
A glass feeding dish is a shallow, clear dish that sits on the substrate and keeps food in one spot. Fine or wet foods otherwise sink into the gravel, where they rot out of sight. With a dish you can see how much has actually been eaten and lift out the rest, which is the simplest way to avoid overfeeding, the usual cause of fouled water and snail booms in a small tank.

Usage & Instructions
Press the dish gently into the substrate so it sits level. Drop food into it, using a feeding tube for powders if you like. Most foods should be gone within about three hours; lift the dish out with tweezers or a string, tip out leftovers and rinse.
Risk & Awareness
Glass is heavy for its size and breaks if dropped on the base of the tank, so handle it with care. A dish does not make uneaten food harmless: leftovers still break down into ammonia, so remove them. Algae will grow on the glass if it is never rinsed. Sharp chips from a cracked dish should be discarded.
