Description
A pH kit is a liquid drop test for pH, the scale that describes how acidic or alkaline water is. Add the reagent to a sample, compare the colour against the printed chart and read off the value. pH matters because ammonia, the main waste product of fish and shrimp, becomes more toxic as pH rises, and because soils, wood and botanicals all shift pH away from tap readings.

Usage & Instructions
Fill the tube to the line, add the number of drops on the instructions, cap and invert, then hold the tube against the colour chart in daylight or under white light. Test at the same time of day each time, because pH in a planted tank moves over 24 hours as plants use carbon dioxide. Rinse the tube after use.
Risk & Awareness
Reagents oxidise once opened and have a use-by date; a faded or doubtful colour is a reason to replace the kit, not to guess. Do not return tested water to the tank. Keep reagents away from children.
